It’s John Strand, actor and model with The Aston Agency. John is a singer and musician too, he spent several years traveling around the country with a band but decided to settle here in LA to pursue his dream of working in the fashion and entertainment industry.

It’s Sundar Mims, he may be a vegan Yogi, but he’s also an expert in Taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu. He even spent a year working as a Cage Fighter. Watch out for those legs, they’re deadly.

It’s that time of the week… Ali Babu Che Johnson, our resident Mr Turk “Astrologist,” dishes out your weekly Horoscopes!

Week Three - Sunday, June 15th-Saturday, June 21st:
Father’s Day Sunday begins in the fertile stillness of complete Darkness. A seed, underground…germinating and about to break into the sunlight…is first fed in the womb of darkness. After last week’s emotive busy-ness, we begin with clear steps and clear plans to take each step. There is an ease with which we can look into our past to feast on inspiring memories. Nostalgia becomes even more useful on Wednesday when Mercury moves back into its home sign of Gemini. This is a time to clean up and clear up old tangles. We discover how useful parts of are past are for the walk forward. We reclaim vital parts of ourselves. In the peace of darkness, we heal and sprout. Saturday, June 21st at 3:51AM PDT & 6:51AM on the East Coast, Summer Begins. A perfect juxtaposition of Darkness & Brightness.

Who’s That Man… In Mr Turk

It’s Kyle Krieger. From his Instagram handle @kylekriegerhair you can tell where his passion lies. His favorite part of being a hairstylist is getting to meet and work with interesting people. He loves the creativity as well as the travel. Kyle is working on a coffee table book about men’s grooming. It will be a beautifully photographed “how-to” guide for men.

Creativity and sociability are two central aspects of Kyle. Instagram combines these two impulses perfectly for him. He loves taking and sharing photos and this year he’s taken it to another level by using instagram to raise money for another one of his passions, The Aids Lifecycle. He’s almost reached his fund-raising goal of $23,000.00 and his team, the Wolf Pack has past their goal of $100,000.00. This will be Kyle’s second time riding in the Aids Lifecycle but he says he’s particularly looking forward to the ride this year because of the great group of guys he’ll be sharing the experience with. The rest of us can watch on Instagram. To help Kyle out go to www.tofighthiv.org/goto/kylekriegerhair

“Ali Babu Che Johnson,” our resident Mr Turk Astrologist, welcomes us to May!
This month, we move from the physical to the mental. Next month, we move from the mental to the emotional. Then, in July, we integrate physical, mental, emotional & spiritual together and start anew. Such is the cycle of the elements: Fire-Spiritual; Earth-Physical; Air-Mental; and Water-Emotional. We go through this cycle 3 times a year. This month’s “movement-moment” occurs in the 3rd full week of May. Before that, expect a “primal surge”…that awareness that comes each year Mid-Spring when we experience our bodies more exposed in the fair air. It’s a time to reconnect… by acknowledging our bodies as part of nature. From this foundation, we can contemplate the aspect of ourselves that is the mind. When the body and the mind are in concert, that great cocktail of Will Power is born. But first, we have to get down before we can get up.
Week Two - Sunday, May 4th-Saturday, May 10th:
Sometimes, the best way to deal with intensity is to turn it all into a game. Go the beach and splash in the waves. Get knocked down a bit to recover our sense of humor. Go to the playground sprinklers as an adult and get wet in your clothes…it’s just water, right?
The first full week of May is intense. Boons AND conflicts abound. Harmony and discord interplay as if they were orchestrated that way. In addition to that, there is lots of physical stimulation around. This can fool us into perceiving that a “connection” will bring us our much desired happiness. People, places, and things will slip into and out of our grasps. Early Scorpios born around Halloween and Leo’s born in late July will help us all get a handle on ourselves and what we can bring to fulfilling our desires, on our own. The crucible we’re cooking in is melting away our illusions and it is not an easy feeling. That’s why I recommend splashing away the pain.
